Netizens Praise Fishermen In Kedah For Saving A Whale Shark Trapped In Fishing Net

A group of fishermen in Kedah recently went viral after they saved a whale shark that was stuck in a fishing net

On 7 July, the Department of Fisheries (DOF) official Facebook page shared the video along with a caption that read, "Operation to release a whale shark that was caught in a fisherman's net in Kuala Kedah waters. Congratulations and thank you to the fishermen involved in protecting the country's fisheries resources."

The video has since garnered over 154,200 views.

In the 30-second clip, a brave fisherman can be seen swimming in the ocean and tugging on the fishing net to help the poor animal

Meanwhile, other men on the boat cheered him on and helped by giving him instructions.

In the end, the whale shark managed to escape and it calmly swam away.

Many netizens praised the fishermen for their job well done

One person wrote, "Thank God, congratulations to everyone involved. May God ease everything and shower you with blessings. Amen."

Another user commented, "[You are] the best, responsible. Congratulations Kedah fishermen."

"There is awareness among fishermen in Malaysia now. You guys are awesome," wrote another netizen.
