[VIRAL VIDEO] The 'I Quit' Girl Gets a Job Offer From The Queen Latifah Show
Marina Shifrin, who danced her way to fame in her resignation video, has just gotten herself one hell of a job offer that even she couldn't believe she was getting!
Queen Latifah offers ‘I quit!’ video star Marina Shifrin a job on talk show
Shifrin, 25, who took the Internet by storm Saturday in a YouTube video announcing to her boss (and to the world) that she was quitting her job while doing an interpretive dance to a Kanye West song, has already gotten at least one job offer.
huffingtonpost.comOn Wednesday, Shifrin was offered a position as digital content producer on the "Queen Latifah Show" while filming a guest appearance on the actress's talk show.
elitedaily.com"So, you looking for a job?" Latifah asked Shifrin, according to NBC Chicago, after Shifrin said she had no regrets about the video, which has over 11 million views on YouTube.
nydailynews.comShifrin initially thought Latifah was joking, but it soon became apparent that the offer was pretty serious. "I'm a boss," Latifah said. "And bosses can hire!"
usmagazine.comThe company's spokesman sent the following email to GAWKER, which we are reproducing in full:
Her name is Marina. This is her story
Marina Shifrin worked long hours for the Taiwanese animator, Next Media Animation, and when she decided to quit her job, she thought a viral video would be the most appropriate way to do it.
time.comDuring a particularly late night when she was still at the office at 4:30 a.m., Shifrin set up cameras and started an epic one-woman dance party to Kanye West’s “Gone.”
telegraph.co.uk“My boss only cares about quantity and how many views each video gets,” she says in scrolling text over the clip, representing the media industry’s larger challenge to find the right balance between producing great stories and scoring lots of page views.
dailytelegraph.com.auSince the clip was uploaded to YouTube over the weekend, it has garnered more than a quarter million views.
time.comThe Huffington Post did an interview with her and this is what she said:
Shifrin told the Huffington Post in an interview that the Taiwanese work environment is very different from the American work environment.
telegraph.co.ukShe got no lunch break, her boss was constantly changing her schedule and responsibilities, and her managers failed to help her. So she bounced. But not before making this awesome video.
thehollywoodgossip.com"I understood that it was a risk, but I never named the company or my boss and I mean, have you seen my dancing? How can anyone take that seriously," she said.
