From ultra-thin foldable smartphones to health-focused wearables and smart eyewear, Samsung has unveiled its latest Galaxy lineup at the Galaxy Unpacked in London on 22 July
This time around, the Seoul-based tech giant focused on three key areas: thinner designs, brighter screens, and agentic AI features.
Samsung's lineup consists of three next-generation smartphones and two upgraded smartwatches.
SAYS Tech was on the ground in Kuala Lumpur to cover the launch event, bringing you first-hand details on all of these devices.
1. Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra
Who is it for? Designed for power users and multitaskers, the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra is the tech giant's latest flagship device for 2026.
At 4.1mm when unfolded and 8.9mm when folded, the Fold 8 Ultra is the slimmest foldable Samsung has ever created. It is built using a futuristic titanium alloy foil and titanium plate, featuring Flex Titanium technology to make opening and closing much smoother. It weighs 215g.
The device also features an upgraded 8-inch main display when unfolded and a 6.5-inch cover screen when folded. Both reach a peak brightness of 3,000 nits, making it 15% brighter and 13% clearer than the previous model. In short, the device is perfect for viewing under the harsh Malaysian afternoon sun.
The device's front cover is made of Corning Gorilla Glass Ceramic3, while the rear features Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2.
Under the hood is the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chip, giving the device the processing power needed for agentic AI tasks in the background, such as scheduling meetings and searching for restaurants.
In the camera department, not much has changed from the previous model. The device sports a 200MP main sensor paired with an upgraded 50MP Ultra-Wide lens along with a 10MP telephoto lens.
But what has changed significantly is the 5,000 mAh battery, which Samsung claims can last up to 27 hours and supports 45W wired charging (hitting 67% in just 30 minutes) and 20W wireless (35% in 30 minutes).

2. Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8
Who is it for? If your primary goal is scrolling through social media, bingeing videos, and reading articles or ebooks, the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 has undergone a major redesign to focus on immersive content consumption. The device also makes for a perfect conversation starter due to its unique design.
Weighing a mere 201g, it is designed to be "passport-sized", fitting easily into tight denim pockets. In short (literally), this device is a game-changer.
It features a wider 7.6-inch display with a 4:3 aspect ratio when unfolded (it's 5.5-inch when folded). This specific shape makes web browsing, reading, and reading through your favourite lifestyle articles incredibly satisfying without awkward cropping.
The Fold 8 also matches the Fold 8 Ultra with a 3,000-nit screen brightness and the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor.
Similar to the Ultra, the Fold 8 features a Corning Gorilla Glass Ceramic3 front cover and Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2 on the back.
The only difference is the battery size: it carries a slightly smaller 4,800 mAh battery, giving you 26 hours of usage, with identical 45W wired and 20W wireless charging speeds.
Camera-wise, the device features a clean Dual 50MP camera setup (Wide + Ultra-Wide), which is pretty solid for everyday users.

3. Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 8
Who is it for? Aesthetically gorgeous and built purely for the social media generation, the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 8 is leaner and smarter.
This time around, the Z Flip 8 is a razor-thin 4.1mm when unfolded (it's 6.9 inches when folded) and weighs only 180g, making it lighter than previous models.
Designed with FlexCam features, it's optimised for hands-free recording, making it ideal for capturing stable high-angle videos, whether you are at concerts or filming content on the go.
Though pocket-sized, the device features a 50MP primary camera backed by Samsung's ProVisual Engine, which gives your portraits a highly sophisticated, natural-looking DSLR bokeh effect.
The Z Flip 8 also features an outer FlexWindow that gets a major upgrade via NowBrief. It intelligently detects where you are and what time it is to offer hyper-personalised schedule suggestions and notifications.

Samsung also revealed that its wearable strategy has shifted towards preventative health rather than just reacting when health issues arise
The tech giant launched two new wearable devices in the form of the Galaxy Watch Ultra 2 and Galaxy Watch9 with this philosophy in mind.
The new wearables now feature a massive suite of intelligent tracking software updates that use on-wrist AI:
- Vitals System: This feature acts as an early-warning radar for your body, constantly monitoring your heart rate, blood oxygen, skin temperature, respiratory rate, and HRV to alert you to potential health risks before symptoms even appear.
- Heart Health Score: It consolidates your activity, sleep, weight, and BMI into a simple daily snapshot of your cardiovascular health.
- Daily Cardio Load: Perfect for runners, it tracks your heart strain over time to tell you whether to push harder or take a rest day.
- Fitness Index: A completely personalised scoring index that evaluates your current physical tier and maps out customised action steps to hit your goals.
- "Raise to Talk" AI Assistant: No more awkward tapping while driving.
If you are stuck in gridlock traffic on the Federal Highway, you can simply raise your wrist and say, "WhatsApp my family that I'll be 20 minutes late," and the on-wrist AI handles the rest seamlessly through your Galaxy ecosystem.
4. Samsung Galaxy Watch Ultra 2
Who is it for? The Samsung Galaxy Watch Ultra 2 is built to withstand the elements. If you love weekend hikes up Mount Kinabalu or white-water rafting, this device is made for you.
Housed in a shock-resistant titanium casing that is 25% lighter and significantly less bulky than the original Ultra, the Ultra 2 features a softer silicone sport band designed to sit closer to the skin for highly precise sensor readings.
Driven by the Snapdragon Wear Elite chip for enhanced GPS accuracy, the watch provides incredibly deep terrain elevation tracking to prevent ankle injuries.
It even calculates your exact sweat volume during a workout to tell you exactly how many millilitres of water you need to drink to properly recover.
In a surprise move, Samsung also officially partnered with legendary scuba diving equipment brand Mares. The Watch Ultra 2 natively acts as a fully fledged diving computer for your next trip to Sipadan or Perhentian while rocking a massive 800 mAh battery, a 35% performance improvement over the last gen.

5. Samsung Galaxy Watch9
Who is it for? Designed for everyday urban professionals, the Samsung Galaxy Watch9 is lightweight, incredibly clean, and focused on total health awareness.
The premium aluminium casing is 25% lighter than the previous model. Similar to the Ultra, it features the Spandragon Wear Elite processor and a gorgeous 3,000-nit display.
In the battery department, the internal cell gets bumped up to 390 mAh (a 20% size increase).
It's available in two sizes: 40mm and 44mm and comes with a variety of in-box band styles, including silicone and fabric options.

All of these devices will be available at Samsung outlets and participating stores from 13 August onwards.
