The government has announced a comprehensive special financial assistance package to honour the service and dedication of the nation's civil servants and retirees

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, who is also the Finance Minister, announced during the 2027 Budget tabling that under the newly approved framework, the government will disburse a special financial aid payment of RM1,500 to 1.3 million public servants in Grade Utama B and below, a group that encompasses both permanent officers and contract-based appointees.

The financial support is aimed at easing household expenditure pressures while recognising civil servants as the administrative backbone of national development.

In addition to active public sector employees, the government has allocated dedicated financial aid for retired public personnel

A special financial assistance payment of RM750 will be distributed to over one million government pensioners, including both pensionable and non-pensionable military and security veterans nationwide.

To ensure timely financial relief during key national occasions, authorities will execute the disbursements in two separate instalments

The first payout is scheduled before the Hari Raya Aidilfitri celebrations, allowing families to manage seasonal expenses comfortably.

The second instalment will follow ahead of the 70th National Day celebrations, marking seven decades of the country's independence.
