The Malaysian government is stepping up efforts to position the nation as a premier destination for major international events, introducing financial rebates and extended tax incentives to attract large-scale global organisers

Under the new initiative, event organisers hosting events with a minimum seating capacity of 10,000 spectators will be eligible for financial rebates.

This measure aims to encourage high-profile entertainment acts, sports tournaments, and large-scale cultural gatherings to select Malaysia over regional competitors.

The government also extended key tax incentives for international incentive travel, corporate conferences, and trade exhibitions (MICE) until the 2030 assessment year

The long-term extension provides stability and commercial predictability for global event managers planning multi-year international summits and trade fairs within the country.
