Fresh produce usually comes with a price tag and maybe a label telling you where it came from

But one shopper at AEON Bandaraya Melaka recently discovered something a little more personal sitting next to the mushrooms.

According to a viral Threads post by user @dhiamijas, the supermarket displayed adorable information cards introducing the local mushroom farmers behind the produce, giving customers a chance to learn about the people who grew their food.

Each card features a photo of the farmer, their name, where their farm is located, and information about the type of mushrooms they cultivate

Instead of picking up a random pack of mushrooms, shoppers get to know the faces behind them, making the grocery run feel a little more meaningful.

The thoughtful display quickly caught the attention of Malaysians online, with many praising the initiative for offering more transparency about the origins of their produce

Others said it helped create a stronger appreciation for local farmers, who often work behind the scenes despite playing such an important role in putting food on our tables.

Some even commented that they had no idea Tuscan Fields was a locally produced brand.

Honestly, we wouldn't mind seeing more supermarkets introduce the people behind the fruits, vegetables, and other fresh produce they sell.

It's a simple idea that encourages people to support local producers while making grocery shopping feel just a little more wholesome.
