Sunset by NEON: Upperground, held last Saturday, 20 June, delivered an immersive music experience with stunning sound and visual production throughout the venue

Held at Resorts World Awana in Genting Highlands, the music festival was headlined by global techno heavyweights including ARTBAT, R3HAB, Chris Avantgarde, 7Skies, Plastik Funk, and Dora.

The DJs delivered electrifying beats, immersive digital visuals, fireworks, dramatic pyrotechnic bursts, and drone displays that turned the venue into a full-scale sensory spectacle.

Among the most anticipated acts of the night was ARTBAT, closing the show to a crowd of thousands.

The Ukrainian duo performed Horizon, For A Feeling, Atlas, and Upperground, each featuring their signature blend of high-impact sound design, pyrotechnic bursts, and striking visual production that fans have come to recognise from their shows.

One of the highlights was Fight Machine, driven by energetic, pulsating beats, and striking visuals of a pilot controlling a spacecraft with dual handles.

The on-screen avatar moved in sync with the beat drops, creating an intense, high-energy atmosphere.

The crowd remained undeterred, keeping the energy high until the very end at 3.30am

The venue was a perfect setting for a rave. Located 3,100ft above sea level, the cool mountain air kept party-goers comfortable, allowing them to dance freely throughout the night.

During the ticket sales period, EDM Hub Malaysia shared that the festival aimed to host around 6,000 attendees for a more intimate and elevated experience. That vision was evident on the ground, with a high-energy yet well-balanced atmosphere throughout the venue.

The music festival was held in collaboration with IQOS as part of its IQOS Curious X series.

On-site, IQOS featured a dedicated showcase space presenting its ILUMA i REMIX Limited Edition collection, alongside a giant Gachapon machine where attendees could win exclusive gifts.

IQOS users also enjoyed fast-track entry lanes and access to the IQOS Zone, an elevated platform offering a better vantage point of the event.

Towards the end of the night, a drone show lit up the sky, bringing the event to a fitting close.
