Bique Fest is Melaka's latest curated weekend pop-up arts bazaar, featuring local artists, designers, and entrepreneurs

Also, come with an empty stomach, 'cause there will be food, glorious food. :P

1. Be amazed at capoeira demonstrations, try out some Portuguese dancing, and watch traditional Nyonya dances

The opening weekend of Bique Fest presents beautiful local art, Afro-Brazilian cultural performances, and tons of exciting workshops. You sure won't want to miss the Community Drumming, Capoeira, Samba, Batucuda, and Malaysian-Portuguese cultural shows, happening from 6 to 8 September

2. Step into 'Little Borneo' as you discover East Malaysian fashion and attend a runway show featuring Miss World Malaysia 2018!

Immerse yourself in the fusion of East Malaysian fashion in Melaka and the mini 'Pasar Borneo' from 13 to 15 September. Dazzling designers meet fresh and empowered model talents on the runway at this eclectic showcase of fashion. With special appearances by renowned international model and actress, Amber Chia, and reigning Miss World Malaysia 2018, Larissa Ping Liew, be sure not to miss out.

There will also be an ayam pansuh cooking demonstration from Master Chef Asia finalist Jasbir Kaur for those that wanna up their kitchen game!

She became the pride and joy of Sarawak after becoming part of the final three in the first-ever season of MasterChef Asia. With Punjabi cooking as her base, she ventures into all kinds of cuisines to form delectable fusions that'll please even the most fussy palettes. 

3. Get your creative caps on, because you'll also be getting crafty in some pretty exciting workshops

Come on down from 20 to 22 September to get your creative juices flowing in a host of amazing workshops. You could learn the art of Shibori tie dye with Bohomys or craft your very own Nyonya popiah. The kids will also be able to learn how to make miniature piñatas.
  
If that's not enough, there are also live performances by Ili Ruzanna, Bearscouts, Fhara x Lya, the PICO Musical, and busking performances by Satuwa and Arul & Friends.

4. Inspiring talks that'll give you more perspective on life

In the final weekend of Bique Fest, we’re exploring explosive ideas, and getting inspired by people who live life with passion! There will be two sessions, taking place on Friday and Saturday (27 and 28 September).

What makes this talk even more unique is its structure. Speakers can only tell their story with 20 pictures, and they only have 20 seconds to talk about each one!

With live performances by Elydamia, Dave and the Lobsters, and PilotsMY, you're never going to have a dull moment. You can also take part in a Fluid Art workshop by Lyn Atelier, watch a Samazau Kadazan dance, and jam out to DJ Mchl!

5. There will be over 112 vendors with original crafts and goodies to purchase

Featuring some of the most original and unique pieces of art, you'll find some truly beautiful work at Bique Fest. From intricate paper work to dazzling paintings, there's definitely going to be something that'll peek your interest.

6. You'll also be able to get yourself some awesome threads and accessories too!

They say dressing well makes you feel good. It's time for some fashion therapy as you browse through locally-designed fashion pieces that'll surely make you stand out from the crowd.

7. And what would Bique Fest be without a street feast filled with delicious food?

Of course, there will be more food vendors than you can count! From classic favourites like Deuk Kitchen's very own Texas Brisket to something that'll hit that sweet spot like Cafenity Cafe's Brown Sugar Latte with Pearl. How about Domo Cafe Melaka Raya's juicy chicken wings? Or Hotel AMES' Lamb Vindaloo? YAS.

8. Get immersed in borderless art and experience infinite space in this one-of-a-kind art installation

Brought to you by the visionaries at MAGINAIRES, the London-based experiential designers evoke surreal and fantastical environments in their art installations. Pushing the boundaries of creativity, this installation is sure to turn heads, literally.
