You can now grab a coffee and browse indie magazines from around the world at News & Coffee, which has landed in Kuala Lumpur for the first time
Making its Southeast Asian debut at SMTH by ELSE, the Barcelona-born newsstand concept brings together speciality coffee and global reading material in one cosy spot.
The pop-up opened on 4 September and will run until 11 October 2026.

News & Coffee began in Spain with a simple mission: to revive the charm of the traditional neighbourhood newsstand with a modern twist
Instead of just picking up a daily paper and rushing off, visitors are encouraged to linger over a coffee, take their time browsing, and discover unique print media from different corners of the globe.
The KL pop-up stays true to this vision.

Visitors can flip through a curated selection of over 100 indie magazines, zines, and books covering everything from art and design to food, film, and culture
True to its name, the outpost also serves excellent speciality coffee brewed from Malaysian-roasted beans.

Before arriving in Malaysia, News & Coffee had already expanded beyond its Barcelona home base to cities including Madrid, Valencia, Paris, Andorra, and London
Situated right at SMTH by ELSE, the pop-up is a perfect, easy pit stop if you're exploring the bustling Jalan Hang Lekir and Petaling Street area.

The pop-up will be around until 11 October
