If you've been holding onto an old or damaged helmet, here's your chance to upgrade it — for free

The MADANI Government 2-Year Programme is holding a helmet exchange event from 22 to 24 November at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Center (KLCC).

The event will run daily from 9am to 6pm, so be sure to come early and bring along your current helmet.

To qualify for the exchange, your existing helmet must either be damaged, aged, or fail to meet SIRIM safety standards

You can check if your helmet is SIRIM-approved by looking for the SIRIM label on the helmet.

SIRIM QAS International issues a Product Certification License to certified products, which are then listed in an online database. You can also scan the helmet's QR code to verify its authenticity.

The exchange is limited to one helmet per person, so plan accordingly!

The programme, inspired by the motto "CIVILITY at heart, people are treated with respect", aims to ensure that everyone has access to proper safety gear.

So, mark your calendar and head to KLCC for this helmet swap event.

During Budget 2025 last month, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim announced that free helmets will be distributed to 67,000 individuals from low-income families:

If you have used cooking oil, you can also exchange it at selected petrol stations for cash:
