Calling all foodpanda users (and non-users)! ;P

foodpanda recently announced that they are giving away free two-month subscriptions for pandapro, along with RM50 in cash vouchers, woohoo!

ICYMI, pandapro is a subscription programme that allows you to receive exclusive deals and benefits on food and groceries when you use the foodpanda app. What's cool is that foodpanda is offering this special promotion to the first four million users who sign up.

P.S. foodpanda dropped this offer early in June, so if you sign up now, you probably still got chance to get.

We signed up and tried it out on your behalf, and here are some highlights from our experience:

1. The first thing you should know is that it's not really free, technically

foodpanda is offering a two-month subscription rebate — what this means is that you still need to pay upfront for a pandapro subscription, but you will later receive 2 x RM8.90 rebate vouchers (which is equivalent to two months of pandapro subscription).

In a sense, you're getting your money back lah, but just know that you'll need to pay to subscribe first.

pandapro subscriptions range from RM4.90 to RM8.90 a month.

How to subscribe to pandapro:

STEP 1: Click on the three horizontal lines on the top left corner

STEP 2: Click on 'Subscription' or 'Become a pandapro', and select your preferred plan

STEP 3: Pay the stipulated amount for the selected plan and add a payment method

STEP 4: Upon successful payment, you will receive your two-month subscription rebate (2 x RM8.90) and RM50 voucher in your 'Vouchers' within a few days

STEP 5: Apply RM8.90 rebate and RM50 off on your food and grocery orders right away

2. You no longer have to limit yourself to only restaurants near you

Usually, when it comes to ordering food online, the delivery fees itself can burn a hole in your wallet. But with pandapro, you get 12 x free deliveries every month, which applies to makan spots that are nearby, as well as those further away from you. :O

This means restaurants that used to cost RM5.99 to deliver, will now cost you RM0, woah!

The free delivery alone makes pandapro worth getting!

3. It's sometimes worth it to order more

While it may sound counter-intuitive, you can actually save more by ordering more. One of the reasons why is because most of foodpanda's promos only kick in after you reach a minimum order amount. For instance, you can only use pandapro's free delivery and the PESTAPANDA promo code if your order is at least RM25.

RM15 for three drinks, delivery included? Yes, please! ;P

This means if your order subtotal is currently at RM19, you can add an extra dish or drink to bump it up, so you qualify for extra savings.

With pandapro, you'll also get to enjoy up to 20% off 20,000 selected restaurants nationwide, in addition to free delivery and whatever voucher codes you are using.

4. You can enjoy extra discounts on pick-up and dine-in

If you're free to pick up your food or prefer dining in, you'll also get to save more with pandapro. These two methods are great especially for those who don't like to sit around waiting for their food to arrive.

Oftentimes, your food will be ready even faster than if you were to order it for delivery. This is because the restaurant can begin preparing your food immediately, instead of waiting for foodpanda to arrange for a rider.

5. Save on your groceries by ordering from pandamart or foodpanda shops

As a pandapro user, one of the benefits aside from saving on food is that you'll get to save on your groceries and daily essentials. Plus, you won't have to worry about driving outside, looking for parking, and queuing in line to pay, 'cos you can get practically anything you need with pandamart or foodpanda shops.

There are over 4,500 items available on pandamart, as well as over 10,000 foodpanda shops, including household names like Mydin, Watsons, 7-Eleven, and more!

Something to note is that you can only shop from pandamarts and foodpanda shops within your vicinity. Also, if the outlet doesn't have a particular item you ordered, they will automatically remove it and refund you the value.

BONUS: We also talked to a friend of ours, an avid pandapro user, and he shared a pretty cool insider tip to help you save more

Apparently, there is a foodpanda web page that actually shows a list of all the current and available promo codes, from food orders to mart orders, yay!

So, if you forget the latest foodpanda voucher code, or if your usual PESTAPANDA code is used up, just head over to the website to try the ones listed there. There's no guarantee that all of them will work, but it's definitely worth giving it a go!

Overall, is pandapro worth it?

Personally, we'd give it a score of 8/10! :P

As long as you order food or groceries from foodpanda at least once a month, getting pandapro is definitely worth it, especially considering all the savings you'll get to enjoy.

If we're being nitpicky, the only two concerns we have is that:
- You'll have to pay upfront to subscribe to pandapro (although it's worth it in the long-run)
- Most promos have a minimum order amount (great for group orders, but not so much if you just want to order a simple, cheap meal)

You can now subscribe to pandapro, while enjoying free two-month subscriptions, as well as RM50 in cash vouchers!
