Since the opening of Genting's SkyAvenue concept mall in December 2016, the place has been bustling with activity and good food

With more than 70 retail and dining outlets opened so far, there's plenty to see for Malaysians looking to spend their weekends in the cool Genting breeze.

The mall was constructed under the Genting Integrated Tourism Plan (GITP), which involves redeveloping and transforming Resorts World Genting.

Phase 1 of the plan includes the building of the SkyAvenue mall and Genting Premium Outlets.

Food and shopping aside, the mall also features state-of-the-art LED displays which cover an entire atrium in the mall

The LED displays have attracted its fair share of curious visitors. Visuals on these bright, vibrant screens change periodically; adding life and personality to an otherwise normal-looking mall.

With an increasing number of shoppers pouring in just to see the LED displays, Genting saw an opportunity to set itself apart from other conventional malls; the company launched an epic light show!

"After several months of discussion, we decided to make good use of the LED displays to create something spectacular," a Genting representative told Sinchew.

Known as the largest permanent winch installation in Asia, 'SkySymphony' uses 1,001 specially-made winch balls and combine them with syncronised music and movements to create a visual spectacle like no other.

Test runs for the show started in August and it was officially introduced to the public on 1 September.

Spanning four storeys high, the show's mesmerising, magical-like illumination will stop every shopper in their tracks

It took around 18 months to have 'SkySymphony' up and running. Genting also enlisted the help of engineers, animators, and programmers from around the world to make this a reality.

Feast your eyes as the LED displays move in unison with the winch balls to different themes

The three inaugural shows are 'Forest', 'Urban Symphony', and 'The Goddess'. Each show runs for around 4 minutes.
