Pack your bags, guys. It's time to go to Langkawi this holiday season!

As if the beautiful island in Kedah is not fun enough with its activity-packed beaches, scenic cable car rides to Gunung Mat Cincang, and duty-free shopping, Langkawi has just opened a brand new water park called Splash Out!

Photos of the theme park recently went viral on Facebook. The post, published by Viral Media Johor on 15 December, was shared over 780 times at the time of writing.

The water park spans about seven football fields in size - 4.89 hectares - and has a total of 12 thrilling slides and rides

According to Sinar Harian, Splash Out was built with a RM60 million budget by Tan Sri Halim Mohammad, the executive chairman of Halim Mazmin Group.

It is located next to Bella Vista Hotel in Kuah, or about 3.4km away from the huge eagle statue in Dataran Lang.

Whether you love the rush of adrenaline or merely enjoy being splashed with water, there is definitely more than one attraction that floats your boat

Halim highlighted that there is a slide which towers at six storeys and it resembles a scene from Hollywood blockbuster 'The Perfect Storm', reported theSundaily.

"[The] turbulence impact of Perfect Storm will send hearts pounding even if you are a thrill-seeker," so its website describes it. Huehuehue.

'Ragin' Racers' let you slide down at a top speed of 50km per hour while you compete with your friends and family to see who can stop furthest away from the end of the ride.

There are also more thrilling slides where riders will plummet downwards in different twists and turns, speeds, and sometimes be delighted with visual effects

These rides are:

- Splash-Tacular,
- Shipwreck Falls,
- Rainbow Rider,
- Splash-Python,
- Splash-Twister, and
- Poseidon's Revenge.

For the faint-hearted, the theme park also has a handful of water playgrounds for a more relaxed playtime

An attraction called 'Wild Water' features six different types of waves in a beach-like pool - perfect for families.

There is also 'Big Splash Kingdom' that pours 250 litres of water down from a gigantic bucket every one to two minutes.

'Sprinkle Island' is a perpetual 'raining' zone where kids can run free, and when you have gone all out and are tired, bring a two-seater float to 'River Of Life' and buoy away in the calm water that flows around the park.

Good news for Kedahans, the park is offering a 50% discount as part of its current soft launch offer

For people outside the state, the price is RM40 for senior citizens, RM55 for children, and RM75 for adults. However, it is cheaper if you buy the tickets online.

Berita Harian reported Halim as saying that the water park will invite Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad - who is also Langkawi's MP - to officiate its upcoming grand launch.
