Travelling by express bus from Kuala Lumpur just got a little more convenient
A new LaLaport Transportation Hub has officially opened at LaLaport Bukit Bintang City Centre (BBCC), bringing together around 30 bus operators under one roof and making it easier for passengers to catch buses across Malaysia as well as cross-border services to Singapore.
Located on Level LG1 of LaLaport's East Atrium, the transport hub is expected to serve around 3,000 passengers daily, with capacity to handle up to 10,000 passengers in the future.
One of its biggest draws is its role as a city-centre departure point for KL-Singapore express buses, with fares starting from RM66, depending on the operator and travel time
Travellers heading to the airport can also book express bus transfers to KLIA and KLIA2 from RM41.
The terminal operates 24 hours a day and is expected to handle around 150 bus trips daily
Beyond express buses, the hub also offers shuttle van services to KLIA Terminals 1 and 2, on-demand shuttle services within the city centre, as well as dedicated pick-up and drop-off points for taxis and e-hailing vehicles.
Passengers can also easily connect to the Hang Tuah LRT and Monorail interchange via a covered pedestrian walkway
The fully sheltered facility is equipped with 11 bus bays, an air-conditioned waiting lounge, staffed ticket counters, self-service ticketing kiosks, and digital passenger information screens displaying real-time bus schedules.
Speaking at the launch on 16 July, Federal Territories Minister Hannah Yeoh said improving urban mobility remains important as Kuala Lumpur sees around 1.2 million vehicles entering the city each day, with approximately 5.5 million daily journeys recorded in and out of the capital.
According to the New Straits Times, she said the new licensed transport hub gives express bus passengers a more comfortable and organised place to board and disembark in the city centre.
Yeoh also suggested that businesses around the transport hub could consider extending their operating hours to better serve passengers, as the facility runs around the clock.
The LaLaport Transportation Hub has been operating in stages since February and is licensed by the Land Public Transport Agency (APAD).
It is expected to become one of Kuala Lumpur's key transport gateways, especially for travellers heading between Kuala Lumpur and Singapore.
