If you're looking for a job, the Social Security Organisation (PERKESO) is having a major career expo this week, in line with the government's Jamin Kerja Keluarga Malaysia Initiative introduced in Budget 2022
Under this initiative, several programmes have been launched, one of which is the JaminKerja - Hiring Incentive Programme (JKIP), with an allocation of RM2 billion.
Through this programme, the government will provide incentives for employers who hire unemployed individuals. In a sense, the government is helping subsidise the salary of new hires, which benefits both jobseekers and employers! :D
Ultimately, the government hopes to create more employment opportunities, especially for underserved communities, fresh graduates, or those who have lost their jobs.

For 22-year-old Charmaine Tan, moving out of home and getting her first job was not easy, especially financially.
However, the JaminKerja - Hiring Incentive Programme helped her to get started and stand on her own two feet!
Charmaine currently works as a Guest Service Assistant at JW Marriott Kuala Lumpur. After graduating last year with a Diploma in Hotel Management from YTL International College, she managed to get a job placement through her college.
"My job scope is helping guests to check in and check out, while providing assistance wherever needed. I definitely enjoy what I'm currently doing, as I get to meet new people from all over the world every day," shared Charmaine.
When she first started her job, it was a strain financially because she had to move out of home to rent a unit near her workplace.
"My expenses are actually quite high, as I need to pay for rental and also living expenses, since I don't have any financial support from my family," she said.
Thankfully, Charmaine received a one-off RM500 travel allowance from PERKESO as part of the JaminKerja - Hiring Incentive Programme.
"I'm very thankful because PERKESO helped to lighten my burden. I think the upcoming career expo is a very good opportunity, especially for fresh graduates. Plus, having the incentives from PERKESO motivates them even more to seek a job," she said.
