If you're wondering why there's a sudden influx of embellished Magnum ice cream photos on your Instagram lately, that's because Malaysia's first ever Magnum Cafe has finally opened for business in Mid Valley Megamall!
Proudly presented by Walls, Magnum has always been an ice-cream well-loved by both young and old, featuring smooth, delicious ice cream thickly wrapped with crackling Belgian chocolate. The flavours go from Classic to Almond, Chocolate & Strawberry, Chocolate Brownie and Gold.

The first Magnum Cafe popped up in Siam Centre, Bangkok in 2013 and has since expanded to Jakarta, Manila, Singapore and Shanghai

Anyway, Magnum Kuala Lumpur had its grand opening on 14 November and as expected, hundreds of people lined up in wait for the cafe to open its doors hoping to get their hands on some free ice cream
The first 500 patrons of the newly-opened cafe were entitled to a free customised Magnum ice cream based on a first-come, first served basis. Hence, the long queue.
So, what's so special about the ice cream here compared to the grab-and-go sticks you can easily buy from the supermarket or your local 'kedai runcit'?
You see, Magnum Cafes all over are best-known for the "Make My Magnum" experience, in which one can opt to customise their Magnum ice cream with a coating, drizzle and toppings of their choice!
Designed for takeaways, the MMM ice creams are made on-the-spot at the ice cream bar housed within the cafe. Customers can choose from three varieties of chocolate to coat and drizzle their Magnum ice creams with - white chocolate, milk chocolate, and dark chocolate
Toppings range from classic ingredients such as chopped almonds, marshmallows, crushed Oreo to special flavours that include dried mangoes, tiny chocolate balls and freeze-dried raspberries, amongst others. If you're feeling a little experimental, you might want to try embellishing your ice creams with rosemary petals, chilli flakes or goji berries.
According to Magnum, this mix-and-match system can sum up to 250 delightful outcomes. Don't they look more than good enough to eat?
Alternatively, you can choose to order any of Magnum's pre-designed ice cream masterpieces and dessert platters from its dine-in menu
Magnum Galaxy: Vanilla Magnum dipped in both white and dark chocolate with shards of sesame and white chocolate sheets, then served with black sesame sponge and mascarpone cream.

If you're looking to fill your stomachs with more than just sweet treats, Magnum Cafe's dine-in menu also offers beverages and savoury items such as almond-crusted fries and a variety of main courses
Chicken and Salted Egg Spaghetti: Malaysian-inspired pasta served with salted egg sauce crisp chicken, Asian pesto and chickarones

The cafe is spread across two levels, with the lower floor optimised for takeaway orders while the upper floor houses a dining area for dine-in patrons
The establishment's interior is also adorned with a combination of quirky and classy Magnum-themed decorations that are probably as Insta-worthy as its exquisite desserts
