This Campsite In Sabah Has The Bluest River & The Most Majestic View Of Mount Kinabalu
And it's only a one hour and 30 minute drive away from the city!
Imagine icy cold waters, crisp fresh air, and a breathtaking mountain view during an overnight camp stay
If you're ever looking for a relaxing getaway in Sabah, you should definitely visit this scenic campsite.
Located in Kota Belud, Polumpung Melangkap View Camp Site offers the most gorgeous view of Mount Kinabalu
The quiet valley, only a 90-minute drive away from Kota Kinabalu, is the perfect place to unwind in nature with friends and family.
People come here to pitch their tents right beside Sungai Panataran and enjoy the mesmerising sight of its clear, blue waters flowing over the rocks.
The water comes straight from the mountain and is always cool, even on hot sunny days.
Meanwhile, at night, overnight campers get to enjoy the view of a million stars before going to sleep
The campsite is fairly new as it was formed indirectly by the devastating Sabah earthquake in 2015
The earthquake caused many geological changes to the terrain and Melangkap locals took the opportunity to promote its new environment.
Now, families and groups come to the site to enjoy camping, bathing in the river, and even river tubing
If you'd like to visit, you can bring your own camping gear or choose to rent equipment from Polumpung's front office
The campsite rents out everything from two-men to eight-men tents, pillows, sleeping bags, fans, chairs, and also have huts and a hall if you don't feel like sleeping outdoors.
You should also enjoy the full camping experience by bringing your own food to cook as they also provide gas cookers and riverside barbecue pits for guests to use.
Other facilities include communal washrooms, showers, changing rooms, a cafeteria, and a small grocery store. Regardless, remember to bring your own toiletries and towels!
If you only have daytime to spare, they also allow day visits so you can go enjoy soaking in the river, have a picnic, or just snap some beautiful photos of the area.
The entrance fee is RM3 per person for day visits and RM6 per person for overnight camping.
You can find the full list of the equipment they rent and their prices here.
