Malaysians can enjoy up to RM100 of free e-vouchers when they book selected hotel rooms online through the Shopee app
The amazing deal is an initiative under the Tourism Recovery Plan 2022 (PRE2.0) and Malaysians can enjoy the offer beginning today, 15 July, until 31 December, reported Bernama.
Tourism, Arts, and Culture Minister Datuk Seri Nancy Shukri said that the launch of the PRE2.0 initiative was done in collaboration with Tourism Malaysia and it aims to attract Malaysian families to book hotel rooms at special prices to boost domestic tourism.
Hotels that are involved in the initiative include those under the Malaysian Association of Hotels (MAH), Malaysian Association of Hotel Owners (MAHO), Malaysian Budget and Business Hotel Association (MyBHA), and Rangkaian Hotel Seri Malaysia (RHSM) Sdn Bhd.

Meanwhile, 229 hotels under MyBHA will offer RM50 e-vouchers with a minimum purchase of RM60 for 7,960 consumers.
"In addition, RHSM offers a rebate of RM50 with a minimum purchase of RM170 (standard room) or RM210 (family room) for the first 5,970 buyers at its 19 hotels. Bookings at RHSM can be made by walk-in, email, or telephone," Nancy said.
In other words, only 33,830 Malaysians can enjoy the discount, provided that each of them makes only one booking.
The minister said each MyKad holder can only redeem the e-vouchers three times on the Shopee app.
The promotion period is between 15 July and 31 December.
Checks on Shopee found that there are hundreds of hotels to choose from throughout Malaysia
As Nancy announced, the e-vouchers are separated into two: RM50 for hotels under MYBHA; RM100 for hotels under MAH and MAHO.
For example, a room at Wolo Kuala Lumpur — the hotel located right in front of Lot 10 Shopping Centre in Bukit Bintang — costs RM378 per night.
After applying the e-voucher, it costs only RM278.
Similarly, a room at Grand Continental Kuala Lumpur costs RM300. After applying the e-voucher, it is RM200.
Other notable hotels and accommodations include Pavilion Hotel Kuala Lumpur by Banyan Tree, Ascott Star KLCC, Sheraton Imperial Kuala Lumpur, Traders Hotel Kuala Lumpur, Pullman Kuala Lumpur Bangsar, Putrajaya Marriot Hotel, and Lexis Hibiscus Port Dickson, among others.
