Diehard fans of the popular anime series Date A Live can now purchase a life-size statue of fan-favourite character Kurumi Tokisaki, though its massive USD7,999 (RM35,200) price tag is bound to turn as many heads as its suggestive design

Produced by renowned Japanese collectable manufacturer Prime1 Studio, the display piece offers collectors an unprecedented opportunity to own a full-scale version of the character, provided their bank accounts can handle the steep price tag.

Standing at 162cm tall, the statue recreates Kurumi in an intricate black lingerie outfit

Rather than relying entirely on sculpted plastic, Prime1 Studio crafted the outfit using genuine fabric featuring sheer lace detailing, glossy red ribbons, a headband, and matching hand covers.

To offer further customisation, designers made the layered fabric skirt completely removable, allowing owners to style the figure to suit their preferences.

To ensure long-term structural integrity, the manufacturer constructed the statue from high-grade fibre-reinforced plastic (FRP), a lightweight yet resilient material specifically formulated to resist physical ageing and colour degradation over time

Despite its lightweight synthetic material, the statue and its custom Date A Live-themed display base weigh a combined 46kg, making moving or assembling the figure challenging.

Logistically, shipping a figure of this scale presents unique challenges for international buyers.

To minimise transit risks and assist with domestic handling, Prime1 Studio will ship the statue in two separate reinforced boxes. Official pre-orders are currently open globally, with production units scheduled to ship between March and May 2027.

The release highlights the expanding market for luxury anime merchandise, where ultra-high-end collectables increasingly blur the line between pop-culture fandom and high-art investments

The USD7,999 (RM35,200) price places the Kurumi figure in the same elite pricing tier as Prime 1 Studio's previously released life-size Motoko Kusanagi statue from Ghost in the Shell.
