Step into Beacon Resort — a relaxing retreat less than an hour's drive from Kuala Lumpur where you can recalibrate, unwind, and disconnect both mentally and digitally.
Situated in Kerling, Selangor, the resort offers a myriad of activities and attractions, including a durian orchard, horse riding, fish feeding, and many others
There are around 200 durian trees in the orchard, and if you're lucky, some of the resort staff might cut open the fruit to let you have a taste.
Wanting to create a space for people to improve their wellbeing while building relationships with their loved ones, Mary Chen opened Beacon Resort in December 2022.
The founder of Beacon Hospital told The Star that she wanted a resort where people could come together regardless of their socio-economic background.
"Our rooms are designed so the whole family can literally be under one roof together, unlike in other hotel suites that have separate sections. And we don't charge for extra beds," she said.
A stream with overwater hammocks is located nearby, providing you a spot where you can rest and enjoy the soothing sounds of trickling water
The resort also features natural hot springs, a Japanese-inspired hot and cold hydrogen spa, and a range of massage therapies designed to help you release tension from your body, allowing you to truly unwind
Waddling and plump ducks, the charming ambassadors of the resort, adorably roam the premises, and are known for their warm and engaging personalities.
A mini pond has been specially built for them to frolic in, making it the perfect spot for families to wander around with their young ones.
Other activities and attractions include jungle trekking, a Rajah Brooke Birdwing butterfly conservation valley, as well as a campfire and bar area.
Inspired by Grecian style, the accommodations include rooms that can cater to any number from two to eight guests
It's like a mini Santorini in Malaysia!
There are also traditional kampung-style rooms, chalets with spacious balconies, and rooms with Japanese tatami interior.
To keep things simple, there's a modest dining hall that serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
You can enjoy buffets featuring pesticide-free Beacon chicken, organic vegetables, beansprouts from Beacon's eco farm, wholesome herbal porridge, and fresh fruits.
Thai-style barbecue enthusiasts can request a mookata dinner for RM20 per person.
