If you've always wanted to try snowboarding but don't know where to start, there's now a place in Petaling Jaya where you can learn the basics before hitting the real slopes overseas
Located at Hextar World Empire City mall, Slope Master is home to Malaysia's first professional indoor dry ski slope, offering ski and snowboard lessons for complete beginners to experienced riders.
Instead of real snow, the centre uses a specially designed dry slope that mimics the feel of skiing and snowboarding, allowing you to practise year-round without having to leave the country
Whether you're preparing for your first winter holiday or simply looking for a new hobby, the facility is designed to help you build confidence before tackling an actual mountain.
Lessons follow a structured five-level programme:
- Foundation
- Beginner
- Intermediate
- Advanced
- Professional
According to Slope Master, each level focuses on proper stance, balance, edge control, and turning techniques, helping riders progress at their own pace under the guidance of certified instructors.
The space also features ski and snowboard simulators, giving beginners a controlled environment to get comfortable with the movements before progressing to larger slopes
The centre is open to anyone aged 5 and above, and equipment such as boots and protective gear is provided, so you don't need to invest in your own gear before giving it a go.
For those who already know how to ride, self-riding sessions are also available on the dry slope.
If you're planning a ski trip later this year or you've always wanted to tick snowboarding off your bucket list, this might be one of the easiest ways to get started without boarding a plane first.
Prices are RM54 for an hour's session. If you'd like to book with a coach to learn different techniques, prices are between RM200 and RM400.
