SAYS EXCLUSIVE: We Asked Squash Queen Datuk Nicol David All Your Burning Questions

Does she like durian? What are her pre-match rituals?

Every Malaysian knows and loves our squash queen Datuk Nicol David <3 So, when we were given the chance to sit down with her for a quick (virtual) chat, we totally jumped at the opportunity!

We especially wanted to find out how she's been coping with the changes in her life, and were particularly curious about how she's adapting to post-retirement life healthily.

And of course, there's soooooo many other things that we wanted to know!

From whether or not she likes durian to what her pre-match rituals are, we asked her all your burning questions. Watch the full video below:

SAYS: "Now that you've retired, what workouts do you do to keep fit?"

Nicol: "I just look at different things. But mostly, I do my bike sessions, I do like some online workouts, and I also do some programmes myself. And dancing!"

SAYS: "Have you picked up a new skill or habit during the lockdown?"

Nicol: "I learned so much about cooking - new recipes, understanding how to use the oven, and all the works."

SAYS: "What do you think is your favourite Malaysian breakfast?"

Nicol: "If I want to indulge, it will be a good roti canai, and teh tarik on the side."

SAYS: "Do you like durian?"

Nicol: "I don'ttttt particularly like it. I can eat it, but I don't actually go out and buy it."

SAYS: "Do you have any pre-match rituals or superstitious things that you do?"

Nicol: "My friends always tease me that I have this thing with my water bottles. I have five water bottles. So, my friends always laugh at me that if it's like out of place, or if someone kicked it, I have to make sure it's in line."
