Oh My My My! McD Teases New BTS Meal And Netizens Can't Wait To Get Their Hands On It
ARMYs be lovin' it.
McDonald's and BTS just announced a BIG collaboration that will be dropping on 26 May and to say that we are excited does not even begin to cover it!
McDonald's announced the exciting partnership with the K-pop industry icons, BTS — also known as Bangtan Sonyeondan — in a statement released today, 20 April.
The global fast-food chain cited the band's positive message and global reach as some of the motivations behind the collaboration.
"The band has great memories with McDonald's. We're excited about this collaboration and can't wait to share the BTS Meal with the world," said BIGHIT MUSIC, the label for BTS.
This will mark the first global collaboration since McDonald's launched its celebrity signature orders programme in the US last year.
McDonald's previously partnered with celebrities like American rapper Travis Scott and Colombian singer J Balvin for the programme.
The one-of-a-kind menu 'tour' will include some of the global supergroup's go-to orders
The BTS Meal will be served at participating restaurants nationwide. It will include:
- 10-piece Chicken McNuggets
- Sweet Chili and Cajun dipping sauces inspired by popular recipes from McDonald's South Korea
- Medium World Famous Fries
- Medium Coca-Cola
No matter who you are, everyone has a go-to order at McDonald's – even international superstars like BTS.
Since the announcement, netizens have taken to social media to celebrate the news, and some of the comments are definitely ON point:
Some fans expressed their excitement about the partnership between the fast-food giant and K-pop powerhouse.
Many asked the big question, inquiring if the meals come with photo cards or toys.
Others joked about how excited fans would definitely be paying a visit to McDonald's for this special treat.
And of course, the ARMY — the name of BTS fans — detectives had a few theories up their sleeves too.
During the BangBangCon home concert held last weekend, BTS member SUGA was spotted wearing a McDonald's T-shirt! He was giving ARMYs a hint.
Malaysian customers will be able to order the BTS Meal through in-store orders, drive-thru counters, or via McDelivery
"This band is truly a global phenomenon with a fanbase that knows no borders, and we couldn't be more excited to bring the BTS Meal to our customers in Malaysia starting next month," said Melati.
