Remember when myBurgerLab (MBL) released their iconic nasi lemak burger, and it was all the rage?

Like, even getting hands on the burger proved as a challenge itself. There were long queues in most of MBL's stores and the burger was often sold out before dinner, wahhh.

Well, the burger was definitely worth the hype. MBL's juicy fried chicken thigh coated with sambal, peanut butter, a gooey egg yolk, and crunchy ikan bilis left local flavours that literally got Malaysians wanting more.

And just when we thought we heard the last of it... MBL brought back their nasi lemak burger, but this time, with an interesting twist that turned the heads of many.

Collaborating with AirAsia's Santan, the duo came up with Pak Nasser's Nasi Lemak Burger – a blend of the iconic Pak Nasser's Nasi Lemak and MBL's burger recipe. Whaaaaaat?

With a plethora of spices sandwiched between two of MBL's signature bamboo charcoal buns, you can expect to taste the iconic flavours of Pak Nasser's Nasi Lemak, but in a monstrous burger.

To give you an overview of what it might taste like, the burger comes with red onions, a sunny side up, Pak Nasser's sambal, Pak Nasser's rendang, a fried chicken thigh, pickled cucumbers, ikan bilis, and peanut butter. Just from the list of ingredients, it sounds like the burger packs a hefty punch, right?

Upon the notorious burger's release, we just had to get our hands on it! Here's our verdict:

It tastes exactly like Pak Nasser's Nasi Lemak (except without the rice, of course)! Out of all flavours, the rendang sauce, which had strong hints of lemongrass, was definitely the one that screamed Pak Nasser's iconic dish. Plus, what took the rendang flavour to another level was the peanut butter spread, which added a good deal of nuttiness to the sauce.

Although the burger looked a little dry, the taste was far from it. With MBL's iconic juicy fried chicken thigh, the chicken was moist and complemented the spicy sambal and rendang sauces, as well as the gooey egg yolk from the sunny side up really well.

And the decision to use pickled cucumbers instead of normal cucumbers was a great one, as it added a bit of tanginess to the spicy and sweet flavours. Not to forget, the ikan bilis, which gave the burger a nice crunch.

So, our verdict? It's DELICIOUS! It has absolutely everything that you could possibly want in a nasi lemak burger. And the best part is that you can also enjoy your favourite Pak Nasser's Nasi Lemak in a monstrous burger.

But, it's available for a limited time only, so you totally have to get your hands on it before it runs out.

Note: The burger contains gluten, egg, seafood, and nuts
