In the unlikeliest of circumstances, a Nigerian couple has opened a food stall at a Chinese neighbourhood food court in Cheras, Kuala Lumpur

Their story was recently highlighted by Big Three Kopitiam in a TikTok video, featuring an interview with the stall owner, Paul.

Paul introduced his stall as a family-run business offering delicious homemade African cuisine.

Running the store with his wife, they sell a variety of African dishes such as fufu, akara, egusi soup, okra soup, bitter leaf soup, and much more.

As a pastor who ran a Christian ministry in Malaysia for 10 years, Paul shared that he had to find a new way to earn a living to support his family after the COVID-19 pandemic

Together with his wife, they had approached many food courts and restaurants to start a food stall, but were turned away.

Expressing gratitude, he said they eventually found Big Three Kopitiam, which gave them an opportunity to run a business.

"We approached many restaurants but they did not accept us. This particular restaurant accepted us.

"I would like to thank the management of Big Three Kopitiam. They are very nice people," he said.

The couple has been running the stall for two years now, and Paul shared that while customers were initially hesitant to try their food, many Malaysians have started ordering from their stall.

The video was warmly received by netizens, with many showing their support for the Nigerian couple and expressing interest in trying their food
