It's that time of the year again — and we're not only talking about the festive season. It's the annual occasion Malaysians look forward to, a.k.a. the return of Mekdi's Prosperity Burger, yayy!
The iconic burger, featuring its signature black pepper sauce, fresh onions, and oblong-shaped patty and bun has become a beloved tradition, eagerly awaited every year.
It's back starting 2 December, but if you were lucky, you may have gotten an exclusive early taste of the Prosperity burger through GrabFood from 29 November to 1 December, hehe.
This special collaboration highlighted McDonald's Malaysia's continued partnership with GrabFood and added to the excitement surrounding the comeback of this beloved burger.

1. The Prosperity Burger is made in Malaysia
The iconic burger we've all grown to love was created by Malaysians, for Malaysians. From the recipe to the marketing, it's truly a 'Made in Malaysia' product.
2. The Prosperity Burger is 30 years old!What you may not realise is that it launched in 1994, which means it's been around for 30 years, woah! In fact, a Prosperity Burger meal is never complete without McDonald’s Curly Fries and Prosperity McFizz — these were part of the beloved menu item since its launch.
3. The Prosperity Burger is actually available overseas
Back in 2005, the Prosperity Burger travelled to countries like Taiwan, Indonesia, and Hong Kong. Nowadays, you'll find this seasonal burger at many Asian countries, including Korea, Thailand, and more.
According to Melati Abdul Hai, Vice President & Chief Marketing Officer of McDonald's Malaysia, what started as a local innovation has grown to be enjoyed by fans in other Asian countries
"The Prosperity Burger is one of our proudest creations, a product that began right here in Malaysia. To see it embraced across the region is truly heartwarming and a testament to its unique appeal. To many of us, this product is more than just a burger — it represents 30 years of memories, family traditions, and the shared joy of Malaysians coming together," she said.
At the heart of it, the Prosperity Burger is not just about what we have, but who we have.
To commemorate its return this year, McDonald's Malaysia has launched a heartfelt brand film titled ProsperityKu, which highlights how this much-beloved menu item has brought Malaysians together across generations, reminding everyone of the joy, warmth, and connections that define prosperity.
