Meet Joel and Ning, the husband-and-wife duo who turned their passion project into a flourishing business from home
Joel previously ran a first aid training business, while Ning was a banker. Their combined passion for entrepreneurship and creativity sparked a new journey, leading them into the culinary world.
While Joel handles logistics, inventory, and the numbers (as well as some of the baking), Ning is the brains of the operation, excelling in customer service and delighting customers near and far.
The former banker's refined palate and passion for perfecting flavours has led to countless experiments, resulting in the delicious treats you can now enjoy at Whisked Wit Love by Ning.
The couple's baking business started in May 2020 when their original industries were severely impacted by the pandemic
Finding themselves with a lot of time on their hands, they started baking for friends and family. With encouragement to take their baking to the next level, Ning and Joel decided to take the plunge into the world of entrepreneurship.
"With the help of our brother, an experienced pastry chef in Perth, we learned a lot through FaceTime sessions," the couple told SAYS.
"Our mission is to introduce the masses to deliciously crafted desserts, perfected through numerous trials and errors. We aim to be recognised in the industry for our high-quality, delectable treats!" they added.
With 90% of their new customers coming from referrals, Whisked Wit Love by Ning has certainly gained loyal fans
"This trust and confidence reflect the quality and acceptance of our products, significantly expanding our customer base," said the couple.
The duo have also catered corporate events for companies like Watsons and Porsche, as well as schools, charitable events, and parties.
Ning and Joel have created a beautiful dessert menu, but specialise in pretty chiffon cakes and yummy cheesecakes
Their chiffon cakes are fluffy and flavourful, and topped with cream for a delightful experience. Meanwhile, the cheesecakes are creamy, rich, and perfectly balanced between sweet and savoury flavours.

Discussing their entrepreneurship journey, the couple remarked that customer service has been the cornerstone of their business' growth.
"We advise aspiring entrepreneurs to play to their strengths and interests. It's important to plan ahead and execute those plans effectively," the couple said.
