The body of a 14-year-old boy was spotted in a crocodile's mouth in Sebuyau, Sarawak, a day after he was attacked by the reptile

According to Harian Metro, the victim, Mohd Nordin Mohd Othman, was found about 800m away from the Kampung Tuba jetty in Sungai Plaie Ulu at 8pm last night, 27 October.

A spokesperson from the Sarawak Fire and Rescue Department said Mohd Nordin's body was found after a resident spotted a crocodile believed to be carrying something in its mouth at around 6pm.

"The villagers then returned to the location at about 8pm before finding the victim's body, which was believed to have been vomited up by the crocodile," he said.

Mohd Nordin's grandfather identified the body before it was taken to Simunjan Hospital for further action.

The body reportedly had several missing limbs, as well as bite marks and other injuries.

His uncle witnessed the attack at the river, reported Dayak Daily.

A search and rescue (SAR) operation was launched at 10.30am following morning, involving four boats and about 40 personnel from various agencies and members of the public.

The search covered a 2km radius upstream and downstream along the river before the search area was extended to 5km in the afternoon.

The operation ended at 4.30pm before resuming the following day.

The crocodile was believed to have regurgitated the body before leaving it behind.

Crocodiles typically regurgitate food, specifically compact masses of undigested hair, feathers, and other hard materials, to clear out waste they cannot break down.
