Two celebrated golf clubs in Kuala Lumpur have reported a club member recently testing positive for COVID-19

The management of Tournament Players Club (TPC) Kuala Lumpur and Royal Selangor Golf Club released statements confirming the issue on Tuesday, 27 October.

In its latest statement on Facebook, TPC Kuala Lumpur said the member had last visited their premises on 21 and 23 October, while the member's spouse was last there on 26 October.

Meanwhile, according to The Star, Royal Selangor Golf Club only announced that one of their club members "who played golf on the weekend" had tested positive for the coronavirus.

TPC Kuala Lumpur will temporarily close its premises while Royal Selangor Club is suspending all sporting activities for three days

"In line with the government's regulations, effective 27 October, we will be temporarily closed until further notice to conduct a thorough sanitisation and disinfection exercise," said TPC Kuala Lumpur.

Meanwhile, Royal Selangor Club is temporarily suspending its activities from 28 October to 30 October for deep sanitisation, but will still have its main lounge open for drinks.

The club management said they will make a further announcement on Friday afternoon.

Both clubs said they are working closely with the health authorities and will keep their members informed of any further developments

However, it has not been confirmed whether the positive case reported by both golf clubs is the same individual.
