Police found six bullet slugs on the road. Police believe the two shooters are not from Ipoh.

A 29-year-old man was shot four times in his Hyundai Atos by two assailants on a motorcycle near Taman Klebang Putra in Chemor near here late Wednesday night.

The assailants neared the victim's car before they fired six shots, four of which hit the victim. The incident happened around 11.15pm.

"The man was driving with two people inside the car, believed to be his family members.

"The two are unharmed during the incident," says OCPD Asst Comm Sum Chang Keong.

ACP Sum said the victim was believed to be an outsider (not from Ipoh) and added that police was investigating the case.

The victim is stable in the hospital

"The victim is in no condition to talk and we will get some statements from him later," Assistant Commissioner of Police, Sum says.

The victim had been hospitalised at the Raja Permaisuri Bainun Hospital and his condition was reported to be "stable and not critical".
