The incident occurred around 7pm, Saturday.
1. The fire at the Mid Valley Megamall broke at about 7pm, 7 October, at one of its convenience stores on the lower ground floor
The store that caught the fire took to Facebook to inform the public, posting, "a fire broke out at one of the myNEWS.com outlets at Lot LG-065 in Mid Valley Megamall."
myNEWS.com management expressed their sincere apologies on this incident and has assured the public that they will conduct full investigations into this matter.
2. The mall's emergency sirens rang out at about 7.15pm, following which thousands of shoppers were evacuated immediately

3. The Fire and Rescue Department managed to bring the fire under control in less than 20 minutes. There were no injuries reported.
The Star Online, however, reported that a man was spotted in an ambulance outside the building using a breathing mask. Although, whether or not the event was linked to the fire at the Mid Valley Megamall is unknown, the English daily said.
4. In the past five months, this is the second incident of a fire breaking out at the Mid Valley Megamall
On 30 May this year, a fire broke out at the mall when a fax machine in a shop lot caught fire. While it was quickly extinguished, it caused panic on social media.
