60-Year-Old Man In Ipoh Killed By Exploding Tyre While Servicing A Crane

The victim was found lying on the ground with blood on his face and a witness said he heard an explosion.

A 60-year-old man in Ipoh was recently killed in a freak accident while he was servicing the tyre of a crane

According to Bernama, the incident took place at a tyre service centre in Menglembu yesterday, 22 June.

Ipoh police chief Yahaya Hassan said that the police received a call regarding the incident around 10.35am.

A witness saw that a tyre had exploded near the victim's body and that his face was severed

"The victim was found lying on the ground with blood on his face and a witness said he heard an explosion and saw a tyre had exploded, causing the victim to be thrown on the side, severely injuring the victim's face," Yahaya explained.

Harian Metro reported that the incident caused parts of the victim's brain to come out of the skull besides also causing ear pain for the witness.

Police have classified the case as sudden death

The death was verified by an assistant medical officer at the scene.

The victim's body was then sent to the Raja Permaisuri Bainun Hospital for a post-mortem examination.
