60-Year-Old Woman Gives Birth To Second Child In 2 Years
A woman in China has given birth to a baby girl via C-section, just two years after welcoming a son at 58.

A 60-year-old woman in China gave birth to her second baby in two years
Identified only by her surname, Zhang delivered a 2.8kg baby girl via C-section at Zhumadian Central Hospital in Henan province on 17 September.
According to South China Morning Post, the new arrival joined her 2-year-old brother, Guoguo, who joyfully welcomed his little sister at the hospital by singing a popular nursery rhyme.
Zhang and her husband made the life-altering choice to have children again after their only child died in 2022
Although her husband initially expressed concerns about her age, Zhang brushed them off, telling him, "I'm fine with this."
Her obstetrician, Zhang Hualian, observed that she took the physical toll in her stride, noting, "She appeared more relaxed than during her previous pregnancy."
Despite facing criticism, the mother feels youthful and relies on her family's strong genetics
"In my eyes, I am only 28 years old. I believe I can live a long life," Zhang remarked.
"My father died at 100, and my mother is currently 94 with good vision and hearing. She can even climb stairs on her own. I believe I am as healthy as they are. I'm confident that by the time I die, my children will be grown and married," Zhang added.
Thrilled to have her family complete, Zhang concluded, "I am so happy! I have a son and a daughter. My life is so fulfilling. The two kids will keep each other company and won't feel lonely."
