8-Year-Old Girl In Johor Jumps To Her Death After An Argument With Her Mother
The incident happened on Friday, 24 November at around 2.30pm.
An eight-year-old girl leaped to her death from the ninth floor of an apartment at Jalan Skudai Lama, Johor Bahru
According to Johor Bahru North police chief assistant commissioner Mohd Taib Ahmad, initial investigations revealed that the girl jumped off her apartment building after she was reprimanded by her mother for making too much noise. The conversation had allegedly erupted into a heated argument.
"Following the fight, the victim locked herself in her room before her mother noticed something was amiss. The victim did not respond to her mother's instruction to open the locked door," Mohd Taib explained, as reported by New Straits Times (NST) yesterday, 26 November.
"The victim's mother forced herself into the room but it was too late. She saw her daughter's lifeless body on the ground floor near the visitors' car park."
The victim sustained severe head injuries from the incident and her body has been sent to the Sultanah Aminah Hospital for a post mortem.
Speaking to The Star Online, Mohd Taib said that the victim's mother did not expect her daughter to commit such an act after the argument.
