A Baby Was Killed In A Freak Car Accident After Being Flung From Her Father's Arms
The nine-month-old succumbed to her severe head injuries yesterday.
On 11 March, a nine-month-old baby died after she was thrown out of a car following a collision involving three vehicles in Seremban
According to New Straits Times, the freak accident took place on Kilometer 19.3 of the Jalan Seremban-Simpang Pertang federal road in Negeri Sembilan at 7.30pm.
The victim's mother was driving towards Titi when she lost control of her car and crossed into the opposite lane of incoming traffic
Deputy Superintendent Kamarul Rizal Jenal said that Lim Hui Chee, 25, was trying to take a turn when she lost control of her Toyota Vios and collided with a Honda Civic coming from Kuala Klawang.
"The victim's car is believed to have spun several times before being hit by a Proton Saga which was also coming from the Kuala Klawang direction," he explained.
Due to the impact of the collision, the baby girl sitting on her father's lap was thrown out of the car into the middle of the road
Nine-month-old Wong Qan Ton was rushed to Jelebu Hospital before being referred to Tuanku Jaafar Hospital.
Unfortunately, she succumbed to her severe head injuries and was confirmed dead at 7.50am yesterday.
The driver of the Proton Saga, Luqman Al Hakim Fouzar, suffered neck injuries in the crash while the driver and passenger of the Honda Civic did not suffer any harm
The police are investigating the incident under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act, 1987.
