A police report was lodged against a headmistress at a kindergarten in Setapak. It has been alleged that she tied-up and gagged a 5-year-old girl for being "too noisy."

The incident, which happened earlier this month, came to light on 4 November.

The kindergartner's mother had caught her daughter tying up her two-year-old brother at home. After noticing how she had tied and gagged his little brother, the mother scolded her, to which the girl responded that she was merely doing what her headmistress had done to her when she was naughty, reported The Star Online.

"I scolded her and she said she was only doing what her teacher did to her when she was naughty," the mother, Teng Aai Hong, was quoted saying by the English daily.

When the mother confronted the headmistress about the incident, she said it was "her method of disciplining" kids

"She admitted to tying up my daughter but claimed that she didn’t do anything wrong as that was her method of disciplining the students," the 36-year-old mother was quoted as saying by The Star Online.

Shockingly, after being confronted regarding the incident, the kindergarten headmistress even went on to demonstrate it by tying up another child.

The incident is now under police investigation

Teng claimed her son could have suffocated had she not intervened at the right time on 4 November, all due to the example set by the headmistress.

The mother, who was speaking at a press conference organised by MCA Public Services and Complaints Department chief Datuk Seri Michael Chong at Wisma MCA on Tuesday, 14 November, said that she has since removed her daughter from the kindergarten and lodged a police report on the matter.
