A Religious Teacher Who Sexually Abused His Sister-In-Law Was Sentenced To A Year's Jail
Both the accused and the victim worked at a childcare centre in Pandan Indah.

Last year, on 23 January, a 64-year-old man, who use to teach Quran at a childcare centre in Pandan Indah, Kuala Lumpur, had forced his 38-year-old sister-in-law to perform a sex act on him
The 64-year-old religious teacher had entered his sister-in-law's room at the childcare centre under the pretext that he wanted to perform Maghrib prayers.
However, the accused, who was high on drugs, grabbed the victim's hand and placed it on his private parts, forcing her to masturbate him, according to NST Online.
It was reported that the victim too worked at the same childcare centre.
The religious teacher was arrested on 16 March 2017
According to a Bernama report, the accused was charged with outraging the modesty of the victim under Section 377D of the Penal Code (Act 574).
Conviction under the act means he could be jailed for a maximum of two years.
He pleaded guilty to the charge yesterday, 20 March 2018
The Ampang Magistrate's Court then sentenced the 64-year-old to a year's jail. However, the sentence was ordered to run from the date of his arrest last year.
Meaning the accused has already served the jail term awarded to him and is free.
NST Online had reported that the accused had asked the court to impose a lenient sentence that could bring him "closer to God"
"I am a disabled person and I hope that the court can impose a sentence that can bring me closer to God," the religious teacher told Magistrate Haslinda A. Raof.
Deputy Public Prosecutor (DPP) Raihanah Abdul Razak had earlier urged for the court to consider that what the accused had gone was immoral.
The DPP highlightd the fact that the immoral act was committed at a childcare centre.
