A 66-year-old man crashed his car into a road divider all because of one loud sneeze in Lorong 1 Toa Payoh, Singapore yesterday, 19 April

According to The Straits Times, retiree Abdul Rahman Hassan was on his way to fetch his three-year-old granddaughter from a kindergarten when the accident happened near Braddell MRT station around 12.40pm.

"I had a loud sneeze and then I realised I hit the divider and lamp post. I was not scared. Accidents can happen," Rahman said.

The lamp post nearly toppled over as a result of the crash, while debris from the car were scattered over two lanes of the road.

Fortunately, Rahman was not injured in the incident but his blue Subaru Impreza was badly damaged.

However, he was not too upset about it as he said that his car needs to be scrapped next year.

Eyewitnesses said they were alarmed and shocked by the loud crash

Yong, a cobbler, said he heard loud tyres screeching followed by a bang.

"I didn't see the collision, but I was shocked by the crash, as it was very loud. Many people were curious and went to take a look."

Muhammad Hafiz Khamzah, 21, heard the loud crash while he was making a U-turn at the road junction.

He said, "It was so scary when I heard the crash. My heart stopped, but luckily the uncle is okay."
