Abused Wife Who Struggled With RM4,200 Medical Bill Discovers Husband Hid RM8.41 Million

A 53-year-old woman in China who struggled to afford her medical bills discovered her abusive husband had secretly hidden a multi-million yuan fortune

The woman, surnamed Wang, was devastated to learn her husband, surnamed He, had transferred out 14 million yuan (RM8.41 million).

According to South China Morning Post, Wang spent years collecting his bank records while enduring severe domestic abuse in Chongqing.

Between 2020 and 2023, the husband allegedly assaulted Wang more than 10 times, leaving her with three broken ribs and brain injuries

While he spent money on luxury brands, cosmetic procedures and expensive clothing, he refused to give her a monthly allowance of 2,500 yuan (RM1,500).

"I feel sorry for myself because I was treated wrongly by him," Wang said tearfully.

When Wang travelled to Beijing for treatment, she stayed in a 50 yuan (RM30)-a-night hotel to cover her 7,000 yuan (RM4,200) bill

She endured the abuse for over 10 years for the sake of her daughter, who had begged her parents to stay together.

The daughter eventually witnessed the violence herself and later testified against her father.

A local court issued a protection order and has sentenced the husband to jail in October for intentional assault.
