Aeroline's cross-border coach service between Kuala Lumpur and Singapore has resumed operations from 1 September

After announcing its exit from Kuala Lumpur earlier this year, the premium bus operator has brought back its Kuala Lumpur City Centre-to-Singapore service, with bookings now open on its Malaysian and Singapore websites.

"We're delighted to be connecting Kuala Lumpur and Singapore once again. From 1 September, Aeroline's cross-border coach services between Kuala Lumpur and Singapore are back — bringing you the familiar comfort, care, and hospitality that have always been part of your journey with us," it said in a Facebook post yesterday, 2 September.

Aeroline had announced in May that it would leave Kuala Lumpur after being directed to operate only from licensed terminals

In a statement on 30 May, Aeroline said the available licensed terminals included LaLaport, 1 Utama, and IOI City Mall. However, it said the commercial fees for operating at LaLaport did not align with its goal of providing affordable and convenient services.

Aeroline said it would have preferred to continue operating from The Exchange TRX, where it had temporarily relocated after its previous city-centre stop at Corus KLCC was deemed unsuitable. According to the company, passengers responded positively to TRX because of its MRT connectivity and proximity to places such as Bukit Bintang, KLCC, and Chinatown.

However, Aeroline said it was not allowed to continue operating there and subsequently announced its exit from Kuala Lumpur. Its other Klang Valley services from 1 Utama and Sunway Pyramid to Singapore were maintained.

The good news is Aeroline is back at TRX, but there's a catch

Aeroline's website now lists The Exchange TRX as its Kuala Lumpur City Centre boarding location.

However, passengers travelling from TRX to Singapore will first have to take a shuttle bus to IOI City Mall before getting transferred to the main Aeroline coach.

A pop-up on Aeroline's booking website states: "The trip you have chosen will make a stopover at IOI City Mall for a transfer to our Aeroline coach before proceeding to Singapore. A shuttle bus will pick you up at TRX and depart for IOI City Mall at the scheduled time as stated on your ticket."

Aeroline's current schedule shows three daily departures from Kuala Lumpur to Singapore at 8am, 10am, and 4.30pm.

Meanwhile, Aeroline's Singapore boarding and arrival point has also moved

In a statement on Sunday, 30 August, Aeroline said its new Singapore boarding and arrival point would be at Perennial Business City, near Jurong East MRT Station, from 1 September.

The coach operator hopes the new locations would provide greater convenience and connectivity for passengers travelling between Malaysia and Singapore.
