Klang Valley Faces 3rd Water Cut Since CMCO Began

A total of 1,279 areas will be affected by unscheduled water cuts.

Air Selangor just announced that some areas in Klang Valley will face unscheduled water disruption starting today, 10 November

The districts affected include Kuala Lumpur, Petaling, Klang/Shah Alam, Kuala Selangor, Hulu Selangor, Gombak, and Kuala Langat.

This is due to the shutting down of four water treatment plants as pollution had been detected in the Selangor River

According to the statement by Air Selangor, the Rantau Panjang Water Treatment Plant as well as Sungai Selangor Water Treatment Plants Phase 1, 2, and 3 were shut down at 12.45pm today.

As of 2.30pm, authorities recorded odour pollution with a reading of about 8 TON (Threshold Odour Number) emanating at the Rantau Panjang Water Treatment Plant while Sungai Selangor Water Treatment Plants Phase 1, 2, and 3, recorded an odour pollution reading of 4 TON.

The statement also mentioned that the list of impacted areas will be provided from time to time through Air Selangor's social media accounts including Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram as well as the Air Selangor mobile app and website.

This is the third time Klang Valley residents have to face sudden water disruptions while under the Conditional Movement Control Order:
