Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has directed Rapid KL and the Ministry of Transport to immediately address recurring train congestion, which has been disrupting commuters' daily routines
In a Threads post yesterday, 29 October, user @siti.anisahj appealed directly to the prime minister, asking for more train coaches to ease overcrowding.
"Assalamualaikum @anwaribrahim_my. Can we ask for a few more train coaches? It's like this every day. Driving means getting stuck in traffic jam, taking the train means facing overcrowding," she wrote.
She also shared photos showing a crowded platform at Taipan LRT station at 8.40am on Thursday, with commuters waiting to board the trains.

Anwar responded to the commuter, tagging Transport Minister Anthony Loke in his reply
In his response, Anwar tagged Rapid KL, the Ministry of Transport, and Loke, urging them to look into the matter and find an immediate solution.
"Wassalam. I'm requesting @myrapidkl and @ministryoftransportmy @lokesiewfook to pay attention to this issue and find a solution immediately. It happens often and definitely disrupts the daily routine of the people.
"We must be more sensitive and take action," he wrote.

Anwar's reply has since garnered over 36,000 likes, with other netizens sharing similar experiences and urging the authorities to improve the public transport system
Many commuters called for more train coaches, higher train frequency, and a more reliable service with fewer delays and breakdowns to better accommodate passengers during peak hours.
One commuter likened their daily experience of travelling on overcrowded trains to being packed like "canned sardines".
"Every day is like this. We want to avoid traffic jam and expensive office parking, but then we take the train and it's too crowded or stuck," they wrote.
Another netizen urged the authorities to act, saying the problem has persisted for months.
"About time to fix this issue. We voted you for this, so chop chop, now do your job," they wrote.
Others echoed similar frustrations, hoping the issue would be resolved soon as overcrowding continues to affect their daily commutes.
