A 9-month-old baby in China has gone viral for climbing a mountain step by step

In the footage, Wenwen was seen wearing protective kneepads as he crawled up the steep incline with sheer determination

His mother trailed closely behind him, keeping a watchful eye as her son remained absorbed in the surrounding plants and flowers.

The boy's father, Huang, revealed that this impressive feat was actually Wenwen's very first mountain climb.

"We took him to climb the mountain not to train him, but to help him expend energy," Huang explained.

According to the proud father, the infant started climbing at 6 months old and was easily navigating staircases by 8 months

Because both parents are avid outdoor enthusiasts, their son gets noticeably restless if he is stuck indoors for too long.

While some viewers worried about the safety of such an extreme activity, many others praised their rugged approach.

"I admire this parenting style. Unlike those who are overly cautious about their children getting a bit dirty, parents like this foster a child with strong immunity," remarked another observer.

Huang noted that the hike brought immense positive energy to his son, who fell asleep quickly from the exertion

The family plans to continue these excursions every two weeks, advising other parents to choose gentle paths, bring protective gear, and ensure close supervision.
