#Belanjawan2027: SARA Credits Can Be Used To Purchase Veggies & Fruits Starting Next Year
The announcement comes after the prime minister said Malaysians aged 18 and above who do not receive STR will receive two RM100 SARA credits next year.

Sumbangan Asas Rahmah (SARA) credits can be used to purchase fresh produce beginning next year, said Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim
Anwar, who is also the Finance Minister, announced this during the tabling of the Belanjawan 2027 today, 9 October.
He said SARA credits can be used to buy fresh and perishable goods at 216 FAMA farmers' markets and Tamu markets nationwide.
He said there are currently 15,000 participating SARA outlets, including 6,800 small grocery stores and cooperatives.
The government aims to bring the number of participating small grocery stores to 10,000 by the end of the year.
Previously, SARA credits linked to recipients' MyKad could only be used to buy approved essential items, including packaged and frozen food.
