BERSIH 2.0 Is Calling Out Election Offenders In Their New GE14 'Hall Of Shame'
Only verified information submitted by the general public or PEMANTAU volunteers and coordinators will be included on the page.
Ahead of GE14, electoral watchdog BERSIH 2.0 has launched a 'Hall of Shame' webpage dedicated to naming and shaming "any candidate, party, official, or individual guilty of acting against clean and fair elections"
Hosted on the PEMANTAU website, BERSIH 2.0 stated that only information from verified reports submitted to them by the general public or PEMANTAU volunteers and coordinators will be included on the page.
According to the post, the Hall of Shame selection is based on the value of money involved, the frequency of the offence, the scale and reach of the offence, and the potential impact on the integrity of the upcoming GE14
At the time of writing, there are 130 offences listed including the dates, places and summaries of incidents.
Among the offenders listed are prominent politicians such as Najib Razak, Tengku Adnan Mansor, and Noor Hisham Abdullah, the Director General of the Ministry of Health
Meanwhile, BERSIH 2.0 has also submitted a report to the Election Commission (EC) yesterday, 24 April, regarding more than 80 public complaints they have received related to the electoral roll since the dissolution of Parliament
According to their media statement, the independently verified complaints range from the names of deceased persons, former citizens' and people who have not registered appearing on the electoral roll, to voters being moved to a distant constituency without their knowledge.
In addition to an explanation from the EC, BERSIH 2.0 demanded that urgent action be taken to "protect the integrity of the electoral roll" ahead of election day.
BERSIH 2.0 also encouraged anyone who witnesses an election offence to make a report
