A 29-year-old motorcyclist has been charged with gang assault and other charges in connection with the beating of an SUV driver in a high-profile case caught on video last week.

Craig Wright, who was arrested at his home in Brooklyn, also was charged with assault and unlawful imprisonment.

In March, Wright pleaded guilty to driving with a suspended license. He was also convicted in Virginia in 2005 for reckless driving.

Here's how it started: One of the bike riders actually brake-checked the SUV, resulting in Lien rear-ending the rider

At some point at around 1:30 in the afternoon on the West Side Highway in Manhattan, one of those riders (28-year-old Christopher Cruz) brake-checked the driver of a black Range Rover (33-year-old Alexian Lien).

Lien rear-ended Cruz, and a number of bikers swarmed around the Range Rover to see what happened. Lien had his wife and two-year-old in the car. He panicked and took off, knocking over a number of bikers.

One rider Jay Mieses was sent to the hospital with serious injuries. He is currently in a medically-induced coma and his family claims he may be paralyzed from the waist down.

Mieses has a criminal history of riding infractions and is banned from driving in Massachusetts until 2017.

After Lien knocked over a number of bikers, they gave chase, stopping Lien further up the highway. When one biker threw open Lien's door, Lien took off again, knocking over more bikers.

Wife of SUV driver, Rosalyn, said the couple only fled because they were scared

Rosalyn Ng — pictured holding her 2-year-old daughter — said the family feared for their safety and were trying to escape a chaotic confrontation with the bikers.
