Upon arriving at the boat terminal at 11.50pm, the woman started experiencing labour pains

According to Malay Mail, members of the public sought for help from the Fire and Rescue Department at 11:56pm when the couple could not board the terminal because it was locked.

Following the distress call, the Fire and Rescue Department deployed a team of 10 firemen to the terminal.

The firemen had to break the padlock of the terminal in order to get to the couple

“We managed to cut the padlock within a minute to help the woman who safely delivered the baby on the terminal bench with the help of her husband,” said Narudin.

“However, the woman could not be brought to the hospital in time as she was in pain and going into labour,” he added as quoted by Borneo Post.
