Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim says he is very pleased with ongoing negotiations with Barisan Nasional (BN) to form a unity government

The Pakatan Harapan (PH) chairperson expressed confidence that his coalition, which has 82 seats, will be able to form a government with BN, which has 30 seats. Together they have a simple majority.

According to Anwar, while BN is still undecided, he was very pleased with the outcome of the two coalition meetings today during which seven representatives from BN took part in the discussions with PH.

Anwar said the discussions, which centred on the inherent need to set up a federal government that is stable, inclusive, and takes care of the people and their interests in this country, were satisfactory.

Anwar added that BN did not impose any unreasonable conditions and that the issue of court cases was not discussed during the meeting

"The cases aren't related to what has been discussed. The judiciary must be independent," said Anwar.

Meanwhile, Perikatan Nasional (PN) says it has statutory declarations (SDs) from "more than 112" members of parliament (MPs):
