Agong Extends Deadline To 22 Nov For Parties To Decide On PM Candidate

The Yang di-Pertuan Agong advised the rakyat to be patient and remain calm until the new federal government is formed.

In a statement at 1.35pm today, 21 November, the Istana Negara announced that the Yang di-Pertuan Agong has postponed the deadline for party leaders to decide on their prime ministerial candidate

The Comptroller of the Royal Household, Datuk Ahmad Fadil Shamsuddin, said the deadline has been extended to 2pm tomorrow, 22 November.

"His Majesty's approval is a follow-up to the requests (for the deadline extension) from the coalition and party leaders that the Istana Negara has received today."

"In connection with that, His Majesty called and advised the rakyat to be patient and remain calm until the process of forming a new government and the nomination of the future 10th Prime Minister of Malaysia is completed."
