During the tabling of #Belanjawan2019 in Dewan Rakyat today, 2 November, Finance Minister Lim Guan Eng announced that Pangkor Island will be made duty-free to realise its tourism potential

The duty-free status will help Pangkor island realise its real potential as one of the country's main tourism destinations, Lim said

However, Pangkor's duty-free status will be bound by certain conditions, he added.

Langkawi's status as a duty-free island will be further expanded

The government will give tax exemption facility to duty-free shops at Swettenham Port in Penang to further promote cruise tourism
